Our Mission
To provide quality, authentic, and responsible tourism experiences while promoting Uganda's nature, culture, wildlife, and local communities.
Wagwan Tours Uganda was born from a personal journey. My story in Uganda started like many visitors' stories do: I arrived from Belgium as a traveller, curious to experience the country's famous wildlife, its landscapes, and its culture. The plan was simple — explore Uganda, make some memories, and eventually continue my journey. But Uganda had other plans.
What was meant to be a short visit slowly became something much bigger. Between the misty forests of Bwindi, the energy of Kampala, the beauty of Uganda's countryside, and the everyday adventures of life here, I found myself falling in love with a country that offered far more than I ever expected.
Along the way, I met my Ugandan partner, who shared my passion for travel and introduced me to Uganda from a completely different perspective. With her background in Travel and Tourism Management and her deep understanding of the country, she helped me see beyond the places most visitors know. Together, we realised we shared the same belief: Uganda deserved to be experienced in a more complete and authentic way.
Uganda is famous for its mountain gorillas, and rightly so, but there is so much more to discover. The lakes, the music, the food, the history, the kingdoms, the landscapes, and the warmth of people who welcome strangers like old friends are all part of what makes this country special.
That is why we created Wagwan Tours Uganda. We wanted to build a company that goes beyond simply taking visitors from one attraction to another. We want to create journeys that connect travellers with the real Uganda — its nature, its culture, its communities, and the stories of the people who call it home.
We are still a young company, and we are growing step by step. We are not trying to become the biggest tour operator. We want to become one that people trust — a company that takes the time to do things properly and gives every guest a genuine experience of Uganda.
Welcome to Uganda. We would love to share this country with you.
Authenticity. We'd rather under-promise and over-deliver than the other way around.
Responsibility. Every itinerary considers the communities and environments we pass through, not just the guest.
Local first. From the lodges we recommend to the drivers we hire, we keep it Ugandan-owned and Ugandan-run wherever we can.
Genuine passion. This isn't a job we clock out of. It's the reason the company exists.
Personal service. No two travellers want the same trip, so we don't sell the same trip twice.
Our team lives and works here — every recommendation comes from real experience, not a travel catalogue.
No hidden costs or surprise add-ons. What we quote is what you pay, with every detail explained upfront.
From the first message to the last day of your trip, we're reachable, responsive, and genuinely invested in how it goes.
